This scheme provides solar pump sets on 90% subsidy to the farmers. PM Kusum Yojana was started by the Central Government with the objective that it will act as an advanced technology for generating electricity. Along with this, through solar pumps, it will help farmers to irrigate crops and farmers will also allow citizens to generate electricity.
This scheme has been implemented across the country by the Central Government to increase the income of farmers. Under this scheme, farmers can produce electricity by installing solar pump sets on their barren land and sell extra electricity directly to the government and therefore earn extra income. It has been provided an opportunity to all the farmers to do agricultural work and generate electricity. Under this scheme of Government of India, the sector of solar energy will be promoted. Farmers will be motivated to take up farming and they will be able to bring water to the fields for irrigation.
