On Friday, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar stated that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops would be maintained, and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has established a committee to improve the mechanism’s effectiveness and transparency.

When asked about the country’s fertiliser scarcity, the minister stated that farmers were receiving plenty supplies and would continue to do so.

“The MSP for crops was already in place and will be in the coming days. In addition, the prime minister has established a committee to make it more effective and transparent “‘I told reporters here,’ he said.

“Even Congressmen don’t believe in Rahul Gandhi’s claims,” he said in response to a question about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s comments on the farm issue.

On reports of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) forming its own police, the minister said he was not aware of it but wondered how a political party could form its own “police”.
