The Regional Sericulture Research Centre of the Central Silk Board of Jammu conducted a five-day Farmer Skill Training Programme as part of the Capacity Building and Training programme at Sericulture Farm, Ghordi, Udhampur.

The program’s main goal is to make sericulture farmers aware of the most recent techniques available in the field, the implementation of which will help them increase their revenue. Around 25 sericulture farmers, mostly women, from various panchayats in the Ghordi block were trained. The training was well received by the trainees, who believed it would help them become more self-sufficient.

“My parents were sericulture practitioners, and I picked up some hints from them as I saw them.” “This is my first day of training, and it will allow me to stand on my own two feet and not rely on others,” trainee Sawarna told ANI.

Another trainee, Meena, praised the Modi government, saying she was able to participate in sericulture training and learn something new because of them.

“Such programmes did not previously exist; they are only now taking place.” “We will learn from this programme,” said Rubey, another trainee.

According to Dr. Chatra Pal of the Central Silk Board, the program’s goal is to bring new technology to farmers in order to increase their revenue.

“The job of the training programme is to educate farmers on the most up-to-date techniques for increasing their income.” We are receiving assistance from the Department of State Sericulture. Farmers are encouraged to use cutting-edge technology. Pal told ANI that the training would last five days.

Pal went on to say that the trainees would be given food as well as a daily stipend of Rs 150.

According to Arti Sharma, Chairman of the Block Development Council, Ghordi, government schemes on sericulture, as well as a wealth of practical and academic information about the sector, will be shared with participants.

“Our Prime Minister’s dream of achieving ‘Aatamnirbhar Bharat‘ can be realised only if we can stand on our own two feet.” “The programme would provide many benefits to the participants,” she went on to say.

Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Senior Technical Assistant, and Vinod Sharma, Circle Incharge, Ghordi, were also present on behalf of the Sericulture Department to provide training for the Central Silk Board.
