The Madhya Pradesh government has set the MSP, or minimum support price, for the procurement of rabi crops.
According to the press release, farmers who want to sell their produce at MSP must register at the designated registration centres by March 5. It is important to note that the registration process has changed. According to the press release, the agriculture department is constantly monitoring the situation due to the difficulties farmers have encountered while registering.
Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Principal Secretary for Food and Civil Supplies, has convened a high-level meeting with the commissioner’s office to discuss rabi crop procurement issues. Gulshan Bamra, MD of Civil Supplies Corporation, MD of Warehousing Corporation, and others will attend the meeting.
Kidwai, who is also an IAS officer of batch 1996, was initially appointed as the commissioner of the directorate of health in early April 2020.
Later, he was appointed as the principal secretary of health department in mid- May in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak. He was then shifted to the food and civil supplies department.
